Christmas Ideas – Single parents

So I saw a great idea this week that a single mom utilizes to make Christmas seem “bigger” when money is tight.  She buys 3 presents for each child – and puts them in large boxes and wraps them up.  She’s built it up that the fun is in the unwrapping.

I think I mentioned before one of our traditions is to take homemade cookies or cinnamon rolls to the fire station before we open presents.  To honor others for their service before ourselves.

We have many aunties that send small gifts throught out the month of December – so my daughter gets to open a present a day  during the 12 days of Christmas…..

Whatever is done, whether gifts are plentiful or it’s a lean year, whether the person that pays support does or doesn’t – and I always personally hope that something will tug at that person’s heart in my daughter’s situation, but I think it’s frozen solid…we enjoy Christmas in honor of the best Present ever, the gift of God’s son.  Everything else has to fall away for the  day.

And in our case, we look forward to shortly after Chritmas to see the contempt in process….
