NSA Executive Officer Hides From Child Support … – allvoices.com.

Thirty years ago Steven Wray Grimaud, deserted his 7 year old daughter and got a job at the NSA, never telling his ex-wife where he worked. In 1987, Grimaud was located by state prosecutors when Shari Hodges told them that she had no address for her ex husband and that she had only received $100 a month through the welfare office for the previous 10 years. Grimaud, although ordered to appear in Prince George’s County Maryland, kept his NSA employment secret and evaded the courts by claiming that disclosure of his employment at threatened the interests of national security.

Hodges, who had provided a lifetime of moral and financial support to her daughter and grandchildren became intolerant when she discovered Grimaud on the Internet, and that he had been an Executive Officer at the NSA while claiming he had no money for child support.

Unfortunately for Grimaud, claims of secrecy by NSA employees, are not exactly true. The NSA encourages their employees to tell their families where they work. It is also a violation of security clearance regulations to fail to provide child support. Despite the fact that Hodges told the Department of Defense and the NSA what Grimaud had done, Grimaud remained employed by the DOD.

Hodges also discovered that Grimaud had remarried and adopted his wife’s 4 children, and had raised them with her daughter’s child support monies. Grimaud had also failed to offer his daughter his Federal dependent benefits, and had offered them to his adopted children instead. Hodges had paid all her daughter’s medical costs out of pocket.

When Hodges asked Grimaud to at least apologize to their 37 year old daughter for what he had done, Grimaud refused. Hodges, who lives in California, expressed her outrage by calling Grimaud every name she could think of on his home answering machine and threatened to show up in person.

Grimaud took out a domestic violence restraining order in Anne Arundel County Maryland, claiming that he was being harassed and was in fear of bodily injury. The Maryland court banned Hodges from the entire jurisdiction of Washington DC and Fort Meade MD, sending a sigh of relief through the Department of Homeland Security that they would not be threatened by the 62 year old grandmother from Palm Springs.

Hodges is now asking the State of Maryland and the Federal child support investigators to re-open the case against Grimaud. Under Federal law, unpaid back child support can be legally collected from retirement and Social Security accounts. Hodges maintains that Grimaud still owes 13 years of child support based on his Federal employment.

  1. I hope she gets the money owed. It’s a shame. The system failed me: http://itsourrealitymagazine.com/systemstinks

  2. This is the ex wife. Thank you for reading the article and commenting. And please email if you have any questions at all.

I finally got the State of Maryland to admit he is a deadbeat. That took two years. Maryland had destroyed the child support files, and I really had to hammer them to re-open the case. The Attorney General’s office has the information but I don’t know if they are going to proceed.

I thought that when I called up the Secretary of Defense, and the FBI that somebody would realize that this guy didn’t have a background check and that he violated Federal law, and somebody would do something.

Nobody did anything in over 2 years to advocate for me. I had a dozen retired Federal agents tell me he should have been fired and jailed for breaching national security regulations. The Secretary of Defense covered for him so that the agency wouldn’t suffer any embarrassment keeping a deadbeat.

And you would think they would just fire the guy. No they gave him another promotion just recently. Now he’s an Executive Officer at the DOD with a pay grade approximately $200,000 a year. Amazing.

I think it’s completely disgraceful that I read other mothers and children with deadbeats in the military and government are unable to collect their support and nobody will help them.

I promise you I will make so much noise over this, they’ll wish they had stepped up to the plate a long time ago. I’m a grandmother, and I’m just too old to put up with all these old deadbeats in Washington any longer.
