Homeschooling

I voted for him, but I’m not very happy with Gov. Schwarzenegger especially after he signed sb777 into law. (http://dailywhackjob.com/index.php/2007/05/27/california-sb777/ does a great job of putting both extremes into perspective on the law)
I am pleased to see this and hope he follows through. If you’re in California, would hope you’d send a [...]

Contempt Hearing Friday

So today there were 73 cases in the one courtroom. They all dealt with  contempt at some level.
There were about 20 no shows, and a lot of continuances. It’s really frustrating to watch those that are required morally and legally to pay for their child support have an extra 3 months to wiggle [...]

December already -

December is here, and even in the normally sunny Southern California it feels just slightly winterish.  As a single mom, all of the Christmas “stuff” falls on me.  In my house growing up, somewhere along the way it became a tradition for my dad and I to go get the tree, even when I was [...]

Hearing today

Well today was interesting. Ted didn’t show up for the modification review. The judge ordered an increase in child support. I’m actually very pleased with the amount. It more than doubled, and was made retroactive to August.
Getting the child support paid is another story - although because this is the third time [...]

Turning in a deadbeat~

So it’s interesting what I can see on the “backend” of my blog.  I can see search terms used to get here, links,  etc.  So the search terms “should I turn in a deadbeat I know” caught my eye and made me think about it.
I’m wondering how someone casually knows someone is a  deadbeat.   [...]

what I feel like some days

There are always questions

Earlier this week, my daughter turned four - with all the little girl joy that is possible. I enjoy watching her at play - everything is so all or nothing with her.
There’s a Volvo commercial with a little girl that doesn’t stop talking as her dad goes to the driver’s side of the car [...]

4 hours at the emergency room

Well, after 4 hours at the emergency room tonight, we came away  with glue and gauze to pull out cactus quills.  The absurdity of household products having to be bought by the hospital clerk and brought back to the hospital, when I have a whole craft drawer full of the stuff I bought on sale [...]
