My daughter thinks the concept of juggling is incredible.  Too bad her mommy doesn’t know how to juggle.  Well, bills I can juggle, and usually do quite well.

I said in a previous post that my ultimate hope was that my child’s father didn’t go to jail, but would just man up and take responsibility.

Well he’s not manning up - so I’m changing my opinion on the jail time.  Maybe it would make the point sink in, if he had some alone time to think.  I know the end game that is being played right now - but it’s still not right on any level to just not pay child support  hoping there’s a pay off a few months down the line that wipes the slate clean.  It seems like at some point the judge will say “you know, the point is not staying out of jail, it’s paying regular child support for your child.”

I pretty much despise the impact of no father on my daughter. It’s hard to separate the disgust at the situation and the man that is behind the situation. I really hate the questions that have been lobbed lately with the Father’s Day ads about why she doesn’t know her father.

But then my thoughts turn to my father. And what I wouldn’t give to have ONE more visit with him. He died unexpectedly from a heart attack almost 3 years ago. As a little girl I idolized my dad, as a teen I thought he was much to strict and protective, as an adult I realized how much he sacrificed to provide for us. He was a man of honor and integrity, he successfully raised three children to share and take on his faith as their own.

He was an amazing grandfather. My daughter won’t have memories of him, but I will of him playing on the floor with her - she was the only one I had ever seen be able to take something off his plate and not end up with a fork in their hand, and he could get her to sleep when no one else could. So as much as I cannot stand the questions that Father’s Day commercials bring up, and while I hope the father of my daughter has a miserable day knowing he’s doing a little girl very wrong, we’ll celebrate in our own way - and celebrate the memory of a wonderful loving father and grandpa.

As of June 1st, the new balance on the child support is $8,773.21.  That’s a lot of little shoes, nightgowns, playdoh, daycare, health stuff, princess items, art items, a bike and helmet,  and activities that are  covered by me…..While I’m grateful for the bit that’s been paid since the contempt process started up in February, it’s still frustrating that I’m paying more in day care for the last two and next two months, than even the order with arrears and interest covers.  You can truly only juggle so much.

I’m just going to put it out there that I honored what I said I would about the blog and the attempt for redirects, it’s been modestly successful. It’s almost the end of May and still no child support payment. I don’t know why it surprises me that promises made on the other side are not honored, but I guess that’s why the contempt part is where it is….

And a Happy Mother’s Day to mom’s out there….
